Set each waterfall column to Start, Contribution, or Total so opening balances, moves, and subtotals sit on the right levels.
Step 1: Open a waterfall in the editor
Open a waterfall chart so the editor is active. This works the same in Hub, Embed, Google Slides, and PowerPoint.
Step 2: Left-click a column
Left-click a column on the chart. The column toolbar opens with Column Type options.
Step 3: Left-click Start, Contribution, or Total
Left-click Start for an opening balance, Contribution for a move up or down, or Total for a subtotal or closing result. The bar updates immediately.
Step 4: Repeat for the remaining columns
Work left to right. Left-click each column, then set its Column Type until the bridge reads correctly.
